Afterlife 101
Disco SpiderThe middle of Phantom Planet, Jazz approached her parents, Jack and Maddie, at the dining room table. With the Disasteroid™ approaching at alarming rate, it was high time that her parents know that her brother Danny is “the Phantom”. “Mom? Dad?” she began, “There’s something I want to tell you…” “Actually,” said Maddie, “There’s something we wanna tell you. You got some letters from the colleges you applied to.” That was bigger news. Maddie placed a whole stack of envelopes on the table in front of where Jazz was sitting. They came from all sorts, from the higher-ups like Harvard and Yale, to the fallbacks like Oxford (New Jersey), China (Illinois), CalRis (The Land O’ CalRissians) and a few community colleges. Unfortunately, many of these colleges said no, but not because of lack of money. Apparently, Jack and Maddie’s careless shenanigans have given the Fenton name a bad reputation. Only the community colleges was willing to welcome Jazz into their folds. “Why do you guys have to exterminate ghosts?” Jazz groaned, looking up at her parents, “Why can’t it be something simple, like roaches? At least they get the job done without hassle.” “If we did,” Jack reasoned, “Who would capture the ghosts? Or even Phantom, that no good ghost scum?” “That reminds me,” said Jazz, putting the letters down, “There’s something I need to tell you about Phantom…”, The end of Phantom Planet It was cold as ice that day. But this is Antarctica—what did you expect? Danny, in his ghost form, stood face-to-face with his mother, not a single weapon between them. A crowd made of Amity Park’s population were all gathered ‘round. “Isn’t there something you want to tell us?” Maddie said calmly. Danny was frazzled. Do his parents…know? Jazz approached him on the side. “It’s okay Danny,” she said assuringly, “They know.” He looked around at all the people gazing in anticipation, parents too. Smiling, he turned back into a human. And there was much rejoicing., The end of summer “You wanted to what?!?!?” said Jazz. She was settling in to her new college dormitory when she phoned home to keep tabs with the rest of the Fenton clan. She was flabbergasted with what her parents have done. “We were going to fix him,” said her mother over the phone, “Rip him apart molecule-by-molecule (as your dad puts it) if need be.” “But you accepted him! I was there! He saved the world!” Jazz protested. “That may well be, but a ghost can’t live in a ghost hunter’s house.” “He’s half-ghost!” “A half-ghost is still a ghost, Jasmine.” “You know, there are reasons why Danny didn’t want to tell you his secret, and that’s one of them.” There was a pregnant pause, then Maddie was the next to speak. “I will not let my son grow up to be a freak of human/supernatural nature.” “Well how do you think Danny feels? If you wanna remove his powers, you should—I don’t know—wait till he asks for you to do so. But knowing him, that’s not gonna happen any time soon.” “We’re not stupid, Jazz,” said Maddie, sternly, “He’ll come crawling back sooner or later.” “Wait…’crawling back’? You mean he’s not there?” “No, he isn’t. We visited his usual haunts (badum chi), he wasn’t there. He wasn’t at Sam’s, he wasn’t at Tucker’s. The school said they were emailing his homework to him like he told them to. Not even the other ghosts know where he is.” Jazz smirked at her mother’s last sentence. “I hope you’re happy. Amity Park is probably overrun with ghosts after you scared Danny away!” “No, it’s not like that at all. They’re actually being nice, as if they owed him something.” “Well he did get their help in stopping the Disasteroid™. I trust you would’ve done the same if he used his ghost powers to do something nice for you, like save your life, which he already did one too many times to count.” Another pause. “Enough of this, Jasmine,” said Maddie, ”We will find Danny, and we will fix him.” “You’re making a mistake,” Jazz sighed. “Just watch me.” “I gotta go,” said Jazz, “I got my first class in a few minutes, then I wanna check out this study group they’re holding in the library.” “Have fun, and call me if you see Danny.” “Are you kidding? A community college in Colorado is the last place he would hide!” Jazz hung up. Suddenly she heard a familiar noise. “What did I tell you?” It was Danny, hiding in her mattress (not a euphemism) using his ghost powers. “You were right,” said Jazz, “It’s a good thing they don’t know you’re here.” “Well, an out-of-state community college is the last place a predator would expect to find its prey.” “Just promise me that you won’t drop any dead giveaways on your Twitter.” “Noted,” said Danny, emerging from the mattress and checking his phone, “Ah, Lancer just sent me a recording of his class and some English homework.” “You do that,” said Jazz, packing an over-the-shoulder bag, “I’ll head off to my class. Stop by the library later and I’ll introduce you to my study group.” Today was going to be the first day of Danny and Jazz’s lives…at Greendale Community College., Sanctuary, Thy Name is GreendaleBut first, the theme song. When I was fourteenThey made a machineDesigned to view a world unseenNow I walk through wallsDisappear and flyI am more unique than the other guysI don’t know just how long I can stayPlease don’t let Mom and Dad take me away, “Uh oh…,” said Abed, “Something’s off.” “Hm?” Jeff looked up. “The theme song sounds different. I mean, sure it’s got the same melody as usual, but the lyrics are about a superhero getting his powers for some reason.” Jeff rolled his eyes. Abed was going all meta again. “I smell a crossover,” Abed mused. As if on cue, Jazz entered the study room, Danny right behind her. “Hey,” she said, taking a seat, “Sorry I’m late. This is my brother Danny.” The rest of the group waved hello. “Aww, isn’t that nice?” said Shirley, “Is he on a college crawl?” “You can do a lot better than this,” Jeff smirked. “Actually, no” Danny sighed, “I’m just here to…lay low.” Abed snapped his fingers, “You’re hiding from your parents because they don’t approve of your secret identity!” “Yes…what?” “You’re the Phantom, aren’t you? The Disasteroid™ incident made national headlines!” Danny slapped his forehead. “You’re not gonna tell Jack and Maddie I’m here, right?” Danny queried seriously (for the time being, they weren’t his parents). “Course not,” said Jeff, “We’re a study group.” Danny sighed in relief. “That being said,” Jeff continued, “I’m pretty sure most of have questions we wanna ask you.” “Like what?” “Is it true that ghosts have their own realm?” Britta asked. “Yeah. They call it the Ghost Zone™.” “Nice use of the ‘tm’,” Abed remarked. “Do you have a girlfriend and is there a little Phantom on the way?” Shirley inquired. “Uhh…Let’s just say if it weren’t for my parents driving me out of town, I would’ve gone all the way with her by now.” The study grouped aaaaah-ed. “Are there any single hotties in the Ghost Zone™?” asked Pierce. His question was met with things thrown at him. “This is just me,” said Abed, “But the idea of your parents knowing and accepting your secret? That there had potential for a whole two seasons worth of material. But here you are, barely halfway through Season Four and they’ve already kicked you out of your house and now you’re stuck here with us.” “They didn’t kick me out,” said Danny, “They wanted to take my ghost half away from me, and I made a break for it.” “Touché.” “And what you mean ‘season’? This isn’t a TV show!” “Could be." Upon saying that, Danny, Jazz and the study group (sans Abed) looked around suspiciously to see if anybody was watching them. Of course, they weren’t: There’s nothing to see, just words on a sheet of paper. “How long do you plan to stay here?” asked Annie. “Until my parents come to their senses and text me, or track me down through some dumb move on our part, whichever comes first.” “You sure Dean Pelton won’t mind?” said Jeff. That caught Danny off guard. He turned his head slowly toward Jazz. “Did you tell the dean about me?” He asked cautiously. Jazz slapped her forehead, “I knew I forgot to do something today…” Like Lenny and Squiggy before him, Dean Pelton entered on Jazz’s inadvertent cue. “Top of the morn-dean!” he said proudly. Before the Dean could completely acknowledge the presence of everyone in the room, Danny blinked out of visibility. “As a reminder, next Friday is Taco Tuesday™. No, you’re not locked in a time loop: It’s just that the distributor for the taco fixins that were supposed to be for Taco Tuesday™ called and said there was gonna be a delay.” Everyone in the study group rolled their eyes. Tacos schmacos: It’s the chicken fingers they crave. As soon as the dean was finished with his pointless, irrelevant announcement, he turned to leave. “That’s weird,” he mused out loud, “I could’ve sworn someone else was in here…someone who wasn’t a student… Oh well.” He left anyway. Danny wasn’t sure what Dean Pelton would do to him if he was caught, because after all, Danny was still a high schooler, and not really supposed to be there. Worst case scenario, he was either on the lam again, or on his parents’ operating table. But this much was clear: Abed was right. This was a crossover., You’ve been CHANGed! A new status quo was established. Mornings saw Danny in Jazz’s dorm with his laptop, watching Mr. Lancer’s class via a webcam placed in the classroom. Afterwards, he would FaceTime with Sam and Tucker, often asking them how Amity Park is doing in his absence. Sam severed ties with her parents to live with her grandmother, having followed in Danny’s footsteps. Tucker, as the new mayor, called off the bounty Vlad placed on Danny long ago, leaving the Guys In White™ without motivation to hunt him anymore. The ghosts are still there, but were not the nuisances they used to be. Jack and Maddie, unfortunately, remain unchanged: They remain convinced those ghosts will go back to being evil sooner or later, and Danny will come crawling out of his hiding place so they can “make him normal” again. Sometimes Danny wonders if Vlad has finally perfected his cloning technology before the Disasteroid™ incident: if he did, then Danny would probably borrow the machine, make a clone and send it to his temporarily-not-parents in the hopes of satisfying their curiosities and/or shutting them up. All was well at Greendale, though. Danny was having the time of his life. One his new favorite hobbies was annoying Jeff (with Troy and Abed’s help). One day, Abed approached Jeff at the cafeteria. He just stood there watching Jeff eat. “What are you up to?” Jeff asked, peeved. “Nothing,” said Abed, “Yet…” He winked. Jeff, confused, turned his head in Abed’s direction. Next to him was a lemon meringue pie that looked good enough to eat, hovering in thin air. Then SPLAT! The pie was suddenly in his face. Danny turned visible and laughed along with Abed at Jeff. “Your crossover’s gonna last three paragraphs!” Jeff barked, wiping the lemon meringue off his face. “SIX CHAPTERS AND AN EPILOGUE!” Abed yelled, rushing out of the cafeteria with Danny following close behind., The Dean was not the only person at Greendale that Danny had to hide from. There was also Chang, who kept flip-flopping between unauthorized Spanish teacher, security guard and study group wannabe. Today he was a security guard, mad with power—and a possé of 12 year-olds. Right after their episode with Jeff, Abed and Danny rounded a hallway corner, only to find themselves face-to-face with Chang. “Hold it!” He said before Danny had a chance to turn invisible, “Who do you think you’re CHANGing?” The two were speechless. Chang did not blink. “I heard a noise in the cafeteria, and I knew it had something to do with you or your study group.” “You can’t do this,” said Abed. “Yes, I CHANG! As security guard, it is my duty to stick my CHANG in other peoples’ business!” “How do you know it was us?” Danny asked, “That noise could’ve come from anyone.” “Dean Pelton put us security team on high alert,” said Chang, “He’s got some crazy idea that a stranger is on…hey…aren’t you the Phantom?” Danny looked down and groaned—he forgot to turn back into a human after pranking Jeff, and it was too late to do so now. “Uh…where did you get that idea?” He asked half-heartedly. “The Disasteroid™ incident made national headlines,” Danny rolled his eyes while Chang CHANGtinued, “Looks like the dean was right to believe there was a stranger on campus after all!” It was all over, Danny thought. Chang was gonna go report him to the Dean, and the Dean would place a phone call home…to his parents. The last two people he wanted to deal with right now. “Danny,” said Abed, “If you know of any good ghost powers, now would be a good time to use them.” Danny thought of one. He charged toward Chang, and into him—overshadowing him. “Go go go!” Danny said in Chang’s body. Abed ran. Danny flew out of Chang from behind. Before Chang could figure out what just happened, Danny stopped and turned around. “You saw nothing,” he taunted. Chang was so mentally deranged that he actually bought it. He looked around to see where Danny and Abed escaped to, but he was too late: there was no fresh trail to work with. The swarm of students leaving their classes didn’t help., The two retreated back to Troy and Abed’s apartment. Abed panted, but Danny didn’t shake a sweat. “That was a close one!” said Abed. “Pretty tame compared to the threats at Amity Park,” Danny admitted. “Wanna watch Inspector SpaceTime?” “Sure.” Abed powered on the DVD player and pressed play. “I wonder how that played out in the darkest timeline?” he mused. “Don’t get me started on dark timelines,” Danny groaned, “And speaking of which, make sure nobody calls me Dan.” “Noted.”, Greek Life Danny, at this point, had gotten used to life at a community college that he forgot he was a metaphorical fugitive, on the run from his not-parents who want to take away his beloved ghost powers. One day in the library, Danny was with Jazz and the study group. He was working on the homework Mr. Lancer emailed him while the others quietly read from their textbooks. Danny looked to the right to see what Jazz was reading. Then he looked to his left, and saw that Troy was studying out of a different book. “I’m sorry,” said Danny sheepishly, “What are we studying again?” He received a round of conflicting answers from the study group. Some said “Spanish,” others said “Anthropology”. There might’ve also been a “Biology” thrown into the mix as well. “This isn’t canon,” Abed explained, “A crossover like this could be set sometime during Seasons 1, 2 and/or 3.” “Who ya gonna call?” Said an unfortunately familiar voice, “DEANbusters!” Danny quickly turned invisible while Dean Pelton entered the room, Chang right beside him. The sheet of paper Danny was doing his homework on floated down to the floor. “It has come to my attention that Danny Fenton aka Danny Phantom is trespassing here at Greendale.” “Yeah,” said Chang, “What he said.” “WHAT?” everybody said in shock, pretending they didn’t know about him already. Then the Dean spotted Danny’s homework paper and picked it up. He grinned at the sight of the name scrawled on the top. “And, as I suspected,” continued the Dean, “He’s been hanging out here, in this room!” Danny blinked back into existence. He quickly snatched his paper back from the Dean. “You know who I am?” he said, worried. Then everyone spoke at the same time, “The Disasteroid™ incident made national headlines.” “I received an DEANonymous tip from someone often associated with one of you,” the Dean continued, “Mr. Fenton’s parents have been notified and are on their way even as we speak.” “I can’t go back!” Danny hyperventilated, “They’ll take my ghost half away from me! Or worse yet, rip me apart molecule-by-molecule!” “Well, I’m sorry you feel that way, Danny,” said the Dean, “But you’re gonna have to take that up with them.” One question remained: Who made the anonymous tip? It couldn’t be the ghosts—Danny hasn’t seen one since he left Amity Park. It wasn’t Chang either, he was too stupid (Besides, Danny already took care of him in the last chapter). “It had to be an inside job,” Jazz concluded, “JEFF! You want to graduate quickly and leave all of this behind you! Did you rat him out?” “Hey, I may be a jerk most of the time, but even I would keep my word.” That being said, Jeff instantly looked to his go-to. “Britta, did you Britta again?” Britta sighed, “It’s always me, isn’t it?” “Shirley?” “Good lord, no!” Shirley put a hand on her heart, “If I did, I wouldn’t feel good about myself for the rest of the day. Pierce?” “Me? Pbbt, no. My bitch of a father would, but he’s not here, now is he?” Pierce looked at Annie, “What about Miss Goody Two-Boobs?” “I resent that!” said Annie. “We can rule out Troy and Abed,” said Jazz, “They’ve been kind enough to let Danny spend the night at their place.” Troy and Abed gave each other their secret clap/slap handshake. “Well if it wasn’t one of you guys then…who ratted me out to my parents?!?” Danny asked. His answer arrived. A tall, smelly, unshaven guy in a top hat and star-shaped sideburns. “Starburns?” Everybody gasped, “But why?” “My name’s ALEX!” said Starburns for the umpteenth time. And therein lied the motive., The next day Classes were cancelled in preparation for the confrontation of the…month. Danny, in anticipation of his parents’ forceful arrival, sat in the corner of the study room, wondering if this was the second-to-darkest timeline. At last, Jack and Maddie arrived. With great difficulty, they weaseled and maneuvered their way through the massive crowd in the library, toward the study room. Their last obstacle was Troy and Abed, and they wouldn’t budge. “Let us through,” said Maddie, sternly. “No,” said Troy and Abed. Jazz appeared between the two. “I will not stand by and allow you to rip your own son apart molecule-by-molecule.” “He’s not our son,” said Jack, “Not unless he cooperates.” “Don’t I get a say in this?” Danny whined sheepishly. “NO!” said the parents. “Ghosts are evil,” said Maddie, “And if what Jazz told us about ‘Dan’ is true, unless we destroy your ghost half, you will be come evil too.” “IS THERE NO END TO YOUR BIASED-BASED STUPIDITY?!?!?” Annie cried. “Danny’s ghost half is as much a part of him as his human half is,” said Jazz, “If you kill Phantom, Fenton dies too—and I won’t forgive you if he does.” Sad to say, the parents did not drop their weapons. “This is ridiculous,” said Maddie, “You’re just prolonging the inevitable. We’re taking Danny, and that’s final.” Danny stood up. He slowly approached Jack and Maddie, looking into their eyes to see if there is a chance that they’re just being overshadowed by some cruel ghost who has nothing better to do but see him suffer. Alas, no: their intentions were genuine. He stopped behind Troy and Abed. “Would you have done the same to Vlad if you knew he was a halfa?” He asked seriously. Jack and Maddie looked at each other, then back to Danny. “Yes,” they said. Danny moved his head around until his neck made a cracking sound. “You’re not my parents. My parents would accept me for who I am; and if there’s one thing I learned here at Greendale…” he glanced over at Jeff and winked, “When you love someone, you have take them as they are.” (See episode 209) The air felt heavy. Nobody said anything. Then suddenly, Jack and Maddie forcibly reached through Troy and Abed, and grabbed Danny by an arm. Jazz and the study group gathered around Danny’s other arm and pulled in the opposite direction. “LET! US! FIX! YOU!” Maddie grunted. “NEVER!” Danny yelled. “Uh-oh!” said the Dean, pulling Danny backwards out of the others’ grasps, “I know just how we can settle this!” Jeff rolled his eyes. Knowing the Dean, it probably involved paintball. “I don’t know about you, but I got a feeling that this is shaping up to be another good, old-fashioned round of PAINTBALL ASSASSIN! The last man standing gets to decide Danny Phantom’s fate!” Jeff nodded, hating that he was right. Then he wondered where Professor Duncan was., PAINTBALL 4! (This time, it’s personal) October 19th came—but at the same time, it didn’t. Because it wasn’t really October 19th. Although in our hearts, any day can be October 19th. That being said… Before the game of Paintball Assassin began, parents Jack and Maddie were relinquished of their ghost hunting weapons and given actual paintball guns—the only weapons authorized for use at Greendale Community College. Less-than-shortly after the game proper began, they were shot and out of the game, and therefore unable to decide their son’s fate. It just goes to show that you should never underestimate a community college—especially one hell-bent on preserving one’s being. “That’s what you think, millennial!” SHUT UP, LEONARD! You’re not even in this story! Ahem. I apologize. The game was far from over, though. There were still other students out there with their own reservations over where Danny should end up., Meanwhile, in a wall-side study room, Jeff and Danny surveyed the damage. “Who did we lose so far?” Annie asked. “Fat Neil, Garret…” Jeff started to rattle off the names of bodies he could recognize. “And Britta,” said Abed, entering, “That’s five.” “Three sir,” said Troy close behind. Cue secret handshake. “Wait,“ said Danny, “Britta’s gone?” “Knowing her, I’d say she offed herself so she can work her psychiatric magic on Jack and Maddie Fenton,” Abed explained. “Good luck with that,” Jeff rolled his eyes. Bodies were going down left and right. The Glee Club were dominating the library halls; then they were shot down (good riddance) by the Math Club…who were then in turn shot down by Shirley and Pierce. “You like that?” Shirley yelled to her victims, “Go back to the right triangle), you hypotenuse!” “Woop woop woop woop!” Pierce made an O shape with his mouth and tapped it repeatedly with his free hand. “PIERCE!” Shirley scolded, “That’s racist!” “Do you see any Native Americans around here?” Pierce asked her, condescendingly. Shirley, unamused, aimed her paintball gun at Pierce. Pierce, impulsively, threw his hands up. Shirley did not fire. “You got lucky,” she said, slowly bringing her gun down. Jeff decided it was time for Danny and the study group to join Pierce and Shirley on the action. “You wanna roll a die to see who goes out first?” “What, and risk creating six more different timelines?” said Abed. “You know what, screw it. Let’s all run out at the same time.” Jeff’d rather take off than listen to Abed go meta once again. Jeff, Danny, Troy, Abed and Annie ran out toward Pierce and Shirley. But then Shirley did something that made them stop in their tracks: she raised her gun and pointed it at Danny. “Shirley?!?!?” Danny gasped, “What the hell!” “It’s nothing personal, Danny,” Shirley said in a coddling tone, “I’m doing this for the minister at my church.” “Ugh,” Jeff groaned, “We’ve been through this, Shirley. They have separation of Church and State for a reason.” “Shut yo mouth, Mr. Fake-Lawyer! Danny is a half-ghost, and ghosts (half or otherwise) are a sign of the devil in my minister’s book. If the Fentons aren’t able to give him the help he needs, you should be happy to know that my friend Gary is currently studying exorcism.” “Nobody likes Gary!” Jeff protested. “Okay, that’s it,” said Danny, in an ass-kicking mood. He moved behind Jeff, grabbed him by the collar and pointed his gun at him. “You shoot the ghost, I shoot the lawyer. And you forget that, as a ghost, I can turn intangible and that paintball will slight right through me.” “He’s got ya there, Shirl,” said Troy. “Danny,” Jeff choked on his tightened collar, “Why’re you doing this?” “It’s called fighting my own battles, Jeff. I’ve done it many-a-time before, and I’ve no intention to stop. What’s it gonna be Shirley? You or your church?” Shirley did not budge. “I have three kids!” Shirley has three kids, “I’m not gonna let you set a bad example by acting like being half-dead is cool.” “It’s not cool! I admit it. But it’s what I am, and I’m making the most of it.” “With great power comes great responsibility!” Abed said at the same time as Danny. They looked at each other, and made a facial gesture—one that screamed ‘JINX! You owe me a soda.’ “I must say,” said Shirley, “Gary is gonna be mighty disappointed…OOH!” She was shot in the back, and fell forward. Danny let go of Jeff’s collar, finally allowing to breathe properly. Standing behind the shot Shirley, with a paintball gun of her own, was Jazz. “Jazz!” said Danny joyfully. “Should I be sorry?” Jazz asked, just to be sure. “It’s okay,” said Abed, “Greendale’s students are so diverse, they take the ’Token’ out of ‘Token Minority’.” There was a long, pregnant pause. “Thank you, Abed,” said Annie, politely. In his pocket, Jeff’s smartphone vibrated. “It’s a text from Britta!” he announced, “‘Meet me in the Psychology Department and bring Danny’.” Either a breakthrough was made with Jack and Maddie, or she Britta-ed up big time. There was only one way to find out., Troy and Abed in a FAAAAAANNNNNNFIC! When the Study Group-Plus-One arrived at the Psychology Department, Britta was waiting at the door to greet them. On the couch behind her were Jack and Maddie. “We came as quickly as we could,” said Annie. “Perfect,” said Britta, “Danny?” “Right here,” Danny stepped forward. “Your parents have something they want to you.” Danny looked at Jazz and his new friends, who all gave them assuring nods—Abed especially. He stepped into the room proper up to a point. Maddie and Jack stood up and slowly walked to their son. “Danny?” said Maddie. Danny nodded. “Phantom?” Danny’s eyes opened. He turned back to the Study Group: more nods. He turned to Britta: she nodded too. He looked back to his parents: Jack slightly waved. Smiling, Danny closed his eyes and allowed himself to transform. Despite his best brave face, he was still sweating out of fear; fear of what his parents were going to do next. Finally, Maddie took a few more steps toward her halfa son…and hugged him. “We’re sorry,” she said. “Awwwww…” said Annie and Shirley. “I got a feeling this moment needs some sort of flashback,” Abed announced., Jack and Maddie sat quietly with their eyes closed. “Now think about that basket, full of the puppies you’ve adopted,” Britta narrated slowly, “And one by one…you see them turn into ghosts.” “Where are you going with this?” Jack opened one eye, “Shhh, shhh, shhh,” said Britta, “You see the ghost puppies. They’re behaving the same way as they have before. Despite their dead state, you can’t help but want to pet them.” The parents, with their eyes closed, reached out to rub the imaginary ghost puppies on the backs of their heads. “Very good. Now imagine one of those ghost puppies is really your son…”, “Dammit, Abed!” Jeff scolded. “The point is it worked,” said Britta, proud, “Either your parents break easily, or I just got lucky.” “Jazz told us about the many ghosts you caught—and sometimes befriended,” Maddie explained her motives, “And Jack and I realized that we only had one…technically successful catch, right under our noses—and that’s you.” “And so naturally,” Jack added, “Our scientist instincts just got the best of us.” “Can you forgive us?” Maddie got down on one knee. All eyes were on Danny, even the Dean, and Chang for some reason. Danny exhaled. He looked down at his mother, then at his father standing behind her. “Are you kidding?” He said at last, “I stopped doubting you ever since the Disasteroid™ incident!” “YAY!” The crowd cheered. Then the sound of footsteps erupted, so much that a tremor could be felt under the Study Group’s feet. That could only mean one thing. “CHICKEN RUN!” yelled Abed. Once again, the race for chicken fingers was on., #andanepilogue “Troy and Abed in the MOOOOORRRRRNING!”, Live, as always, from the Study Room. “And we’re back, with our very special guest, the one and only Danny Phantom, who will tells us how his life is going, and show us how to make ice sculptures!” Danny looked up from the little one he was making with his gloved hands. It hasn’t taken any particular shape yet. “Well guys, after I patched things up with my parents (thanks to you guys’ help, by the way), they took off for home, and I’m allowed to come and go as I please. I’m just stayin’ here cause…you know…Jazz.” “Oooooo!” said Troy. “Aw, that is sweet,” added Abed. “So anyway,” Danny continued, “How to make an ice sculpture. Well, first, obviously, you need ice powers and…” Suddenly, Danny’s ghost sense went off, and already, he knew who was coming. He reached out a free hand for the two hosts to hold onto, and they turned invisible. But it wasn’t a ghost that arrived. It was Jeff—being his usual, condescending self. “Hey guys, don’t tell me you got the visitor kissing your asses too,” he said, looking down at his phone while doing so, “Do I really have to spell it out? This is not…” Finally, he looked up. The room looked empty to him. “…a real show? Huh!” he said, “I could’ve sworn I…” He looked around. There was nobody in the Study Room for him to see, right? No. Jeff found someone who was still there and visible to him. “You’re still here?” he said to the individual who stumbled on this crossover fanfic, “It’s over! Go outside.” Jeff started to leave through the way he came in, but then turned one last time to his audience. “Go.” “Troy and Abed in the MOOOOORRRRRNING!” The disembodied voiced of Troy, Abed and Danny scared the bejeebers out of Jeff, and he started to wonder if Greendale really is haunted.
